Why do you choose to work at NUEM? I love the clinical environment at NUEM - a combination of bread-and-butter emergency medicine, combined with high acuity, complex patients - and the opportunity to work alongside a smart, hard working, and fun team of nurses, pharmacists, students, techs, EVS staff, physicians, respiratory therapists, and others. I also love the educational mission of NUEM, and the opportunity to teach students at the Feinberg School of Medicine.

There are so many but taking “prom pictures” with my coaching group (shout out to Simiao, Gabby and Dana and looking forward to new memories with Andra and Nikki) on a night out was pretty epic. Graduation of the class of 2018 was also pretty special as they were the first PGY2 class that I advised and watching them grow and develop into amazing attendings was an honor.

The residents, my co-faculty members, and the amazing location

Favorite restaurant in the city?
Goosefoot - sure it’s a fancy multi-course kind of restaurant, but it feels like you are eating at the chef’s home. Plus it’s BYOB.

Favorite thing to do outside of work?
A few years ago I started doing triathlons. Of those three sports, running is my favorite. There’s nothing like going for a run along Lake Michigan in (almost) any kind of weather!

Last book you read or TV show you binged?
A few of my college roommates have written novels. The most recent one I read was Trash Mountain by Bradley Bazzle. It’s funny, weird, and a little insane just like the author.

I have been fortunate to attend many NUEM retreats. Each one of them is my favorite.
